Important Precautions Before (and After) Using Cheat Codes in Pokemon Heart & Soul

Using cheat codes in Pokemon Heart & Soul can be fun and useful—but if you’re not careful, they can also break your game, corrupt your save file, or ruin the experience. Here are essential precautions you must take before and after using cheat codes:

Before Using Cheats

  1. Back Up Your Save File
Always create a backup of your save (.sav) before applying any cheat. If something goes wrong, you can restore your progress easily.
  2. Use the Right Cheat Type
Match the cheat type (e.g., GameShark, CodeBreaker, or Action Replay) to what the emulator or game expects. Using the wrong type can make the cheat not work—or worse, crash the game.
  3. Avoid Activating Too Many Cheats at Once
Enabling multiple cheats at once (especially overlapping ones like encounter mods and walk through walls) can cause serious bugs, freezes, or graphical glitches.
  4. Test on a Separate Save Slot
If your emulator supports save states or multiple save files, test new cheats on a throwaway save before using them on your main game.
  5. Use Cheats Only When Needed
Some cheats, like Rare Candy or Master Ball cheats, are better used temporarily—activate them, use them, then turn them off to avoid long-term bugs.

After Using Cheats

  1. Turn Off the Cheat After Use
Many cheats (e.g., walk through walls, encounter mods) should be disabled immediately after use to prevent unexpected behavior in events, NPCs, or maps.
  2. Save the Game Normally After Disabling Cheats
Use the in-game save option (not just emulator save states) after turning off cheats to safely lock in your changes.
  3. Watch for Glitches or Bugs
If you notice anything strange—missing NPCs, broken events, invisible items—restore your backup save and avoid that cheat in the future.
  4. Don’t Save During Glitchy Moments
If the screen is acting weird or the cheat clearly caused a problem, avoid saving and restart from your last stable save.
  5. Document What Cheats You Used
Keep a simple log of the cheats you used and when. This can help troubleshoot issues later or share working codes with others.

Final Tip

Use cheats responsibly. ROM hacks are custom creations that often change the game’s logic. Cheating too much or carelessly can destroy the intended experience—or just break everything. Always play with caution.

Pokemon Heart & Soul Cheat Codes

Below are some powerful CodeBreaker cheat codes for Pokemon Heart & Soul. Use these with caution, and always back up your save before activating them.

1. Zero Damage Cheat

  • Code: 820015A8 0000
  • Cheat Type: CodeBreaker
  • Description: When this cheat is enabled, no Pokemon in battle will take any damage. This affects both your Pokemon and the opponent’s Pokemon.

Use with caution—this will make battles unplayable unless disabled at the right time.

2. Infinite EXP Points / One Hit KO (Alternative to Rare Candy)

  • Code: 820015A8 03E7
  • Cheat Type: CodeBreaker
  • Description: This cheat gives your Pokemon unlimited EXP points, allowing them to level up rapidly. It also functions as a one-hit KO cheat under the right conditions.

Notes:

  • If your Pokemon hits first, the opponent will faint immediately.
  • If the opponent hits first, your Pokemon will faint instead.
  • Pokemon Speed stats play a crucial role in this cheat.
  • This is a strong alternative to Rare Candy cheats, as it levels up Pokemon continuously until the cheat is disabled.

3. Max Stats for First Pokemon (In Party)

These cheats modify the base stats of the first Pokemon in your party, boosting them to the maximum value.

  • Attack: 8201DA2A 03E7
  • Defense: 8201DA2C 03E7
  • Speed: 8201DA2E 03E7
  • Sp. Attack: 8201DA30 03E7
  • Sp. Defense: 8201DA32 03E7

Enable the desired stat cheats before a battle or training session. These codes are best used one at a time for better control.

Important Reminders:

  • These cheats are for CodeBreaker input only.
  • Always disable the cheat after use to avoid glitches or unintended effects.
  • Back up your save file before enabling any cheat.
  • Test new cheats on a separate save slot when possible.

Open menu in the game, go to Options, press start and select at the same time. Ga back to the menu. Where “exit” was stand now “debug”. Whit this option you can do anything you want for cheating.

    What’s the debug menu for version 1. 1. 4?

Also, is there a working money cheat yet or items cheat? Would like to obtain/buy tons of calcium and carbos.

    Great game so far.
